necessity is the cure for procrastination
definition⌗
Necessity is the fact of being required or necessary. Simply put necessity is the quality of being top-priority and nothing comes before necessity.
rationale⌗
Humans tend to be deluded about what they value, their primitive brain hasn’t yet evolved to routinely consider and evaluate each option that they have. Therefore, they tend to make errors in their judgements which leads to frustrations when wanting to accomplish goals.
One of the reasons you might not achieve your goal is a lack of intensity when you are trying to achieve that certain goal. The lack of intensity comes from a lack of purpose, if you lack purpose you lack intensity.
There is a strong corelation between the amount of intensity a person has, and their purpose. The theortical sometimes needs to exist before the practical.
This is why sticking to necessity can cure procrastination. By sticking to only what you need, and ignoring the other shiny but useless things, you attack your goals with more intensity and therefore have a higher chance of achieving them.
boredom⌗
Sticking to necessity is boring, and boredom is one of the most painful emotions a human can experience. But it’s easily the most countered emotion as we rarely feel boredom these days.
With the advent of modern technology we are becoming less bored and boredom is becoming something we’re more sensitive to, and therefore it’s more painful.
To become a more controlled and productive person, you need to accept and embrace boredom with open arms. Necessity requires that you tolerate boredom.
other cures exist too⌗
Simply sticking to necessity will not achieve all of your goals, some are outside of your control. But, it’ll help a ton.
Remember, life, in general, is never a straight path, it’s full of bumps and bruises. That applies to procrastination aswell, sometimes you procrastinate and it’s outside your control.
